The Jeep Wrangler Door Stop and the Basics of Jeep

2012 Jeep Wrangler jk door stopThere is a lot to say about the Jeep Wrangler, and there are a lot of opinions about it. Some love it, some hate it. Let’s take a look at what makes a Wrangler a Wrangler, some of the good things about and some of the bad, and then see how Star Fabricating’s Jeep Wrangler door stop comes into the mix.

The Jeep Wrangler is obviously a four-wheel-drive sport utility vehicle. This is commonly know as an SUV. It is now manufactured by Chrysler, an US auto company. Jeep itself has been around since the 1940′s and jumped around to a few different manufacturers. The Wrangler, however, was not introduced until 1987 and has been remodeled 3 times since then. The most recent remodel was in 2007. The 2007-present series is known as the Jeep Wrangler JK series.

Since 1987, the Jeep Wrangler door has not had any swing control or stability. In the past few years, Star Fabricating has made an effort to create a door stop for the uncontrollable doors of the Jeep Wrangler JK series. This Jeep Wrangler JK door stop is known as the Smart Door and is available on Star Fabricating’s website. But, enough with the marketing, lets get back to Jeeps.

The 2007+ models are a little bit unique because it is the first time that the Wrangler has come with a 4-door option. That is not the only change made to the JK series. They are substantially larger with a 3.4 inch wider track and a 2 inch longer wheel base.

Through the years Jeep Wranglers have changed, but the purpose has remained the same. They are a unique SUV that can be easily modified into a mammoth All-Terrain-Vehicle. Because they are made for off-roading, the Jeep Wrangler is more than just a car to get you from A to B. It’s a bit of a toy for the adventurer in it’s owners.
